Organization Description: A comprehensive behavioral health and social service organization dedicated to strengthening the social and emotional well-being of individuals and families through accessible, affordable mental health counseling and social service programs.

Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Outpatient Services reports to the Director of Outpatient Services and is responsible for assisting with the oversight of the Mental Health Outpatient program. This position assures the integration of the mission, values, and treatment philosophy of the organization into daily operations with particular emphasis on client care, supervision and training, compliance, and financial management.

Hours: 40 hours/week Exempt Monday – Friday

Major Duties:

  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services with oversight of administrative and direct service clinical staff.
  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services with overseeing and managing clinical treatment including documentation compliance and operational flow of clinical services. This includes oversight of intake operations, service planning and termination process as well as appropriate coordination of care with internal and external programs. Ensures that clinical services are provided as specified in the patient treatment plan, and coordinated with other patient care services, if applicable, to provide continuity of care.
  • Assures the integration of the mission, values, and treatment philosophy of the agency into daily operations.
  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services to ensure agency compliance with all Federal, State, County, and Municipal regulations, program requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services with accreditation compliance and does what is requested.
  • Assists with outpatient services quality assurance measures, as assigned by Director of Outpatient Services. Participates in the identification of quality care indicators and outcome objectives and the collection and review of data to monitor clinical staff and program performance.
  • Participates on Org PQI, Risk Management and Community Advisory Board as needed.
  • Ensures operationalizing clinical policies & procedures to meet standards as directed by the Director of Outpatient Services.
  • Assist Director of Outpatient Services to ensures that the behavioral and pharmacologic approaches to treatment are evidence based or based on objective information to provide treatment services consistent with recognized treatment principles and practices for each client served by the program.
  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services to ensure clinical staff complete necessary paperwork, adhere to established supervision requirements for staff and documents needed, information for recordkeeping. As applicable, ensures that the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients is provided by appropriately trained and qualified clinical staff, and that the clinical supervision of such staff is provided.
  • Directly supervises clinical staff and interns.
  • Provides clinical orientation training to new clinical staff. · Responsible for a small clinical caseload.
  • Assists Director of Outpatient Services in planning and budgeting for the provision of outpatient services.
  • Participates in Billing Team meetings and assists Director of Outpatient Services and Office Manager in conducting utilization review with the Billing Department to coordinate clinical and billing issues.
  • Assists the Director of Outpatient Services with community outreach and new client acquisition.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Director of Outpatient Services.

Qualifications:

    Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • NASW’s Clinical Social Work Supervision Certification SIFI Certification a plus
  • Progressively responsible program management experience and staff supervision.
  • Understanding of the organization’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to write and assist with written policy and procedure.
  • Ability to assist with curriculum creation and implementation.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially using agency electronic health records, Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the cultures represented by the organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
