Alexandra Brown, LSW,
Mental Health Clinician
Alexandra Brown earned a Master of Social Work with a concentration in school social work from Morgan State University.
She also earned a Bachelor of Science in social work from Morgan State, qualified for the school’s Advanced Placement Program, and won an award for Outstanding Performance in Field Education. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2022, Alexandra interned in the Baltimore County Ombudsman Program and the University of Maryland School Mental Health Program.
Irene Garcia is a skilled and compassionate mental health professional with extensive experience in providing therapy and clinical support to individuals across the lifespan, including children, families, teens, adults, and older adults. She joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024 as a Mental Health Clinician, where she conducts comprehensive assessments, develops personalized treatment plans, and offers therapy for a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Irene employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients achieve their mental health goals.
In her role, Irene collaborates with other providers, ensures timely referrals to community resources, and maintains confidentiality while providing comprehensive care. Irene has a strong background in outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, and clinical supervision, including her prior work as a Senior Clinician at Bridgeway Behavioral Health. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey. Irene is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and continues to mentor and support both clients and fellow professionals in the field of mental health.
Elizabeth Sorensen is a dedicated and goal-oriented Social Work student at Ramapo College of New Jersey, set to graduate in 2025 with a Bachelor of Social Work. With a strong foundation in leadership and interpersonal skills, she has gained practical experience in various roles, including as a Clinical Assistant at Mind Matters and Solutions and a STEM Instructor at Little Ivy Academy. Her background also includes working as a Substitute Teacher for Nutley Board of Education, where she demonstrated the ability to manage classroom environments and support student development. Additionally, she has interned as a Volunteer Coordinator at Nutley Family Service Bureau, where she assisted with volunteer management, data entry, and tracking hours.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, Elizabeth has developed exceptional skills in multitasking, communication, and community engagement. She is adept at balancing multiple responsibilities while remaining focused and detail-oriented. Her hands-on experience, combined with her commitment to learning and growth, allows her to contribute meaningfully to the communities she serves. Elizabeth is passionate about continuing her social work career and making a positive impact on individuals and families.
