Katherine CarmichaelKatherine Carmichael, M.S.Ed, MSW, LSW, Executive Director Katherine joined Nutley Family Service Bureau (NFSB) as Executive Director in 2020. She has spent over 20 years within the nonprofit sector in progressively responsible leadership roles within organizations supporting youth, families, and communities. Prior to NFSB Katherine spent three years in the child welfare sector as Executive Director of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer and Burlington Counties. Before joining CASA, she was Senior Director of Operations at the YWCA Bergen County overseeing all aspects of operations for the Aquatics, Health, Wellness, Childcare and Youth programs.

Katherine also served as Senior Director of Program Services and Outreach for the Princeton-Blairstown Center, at the time, one of the oldest university student service organizations in the country and as Director for Good Shepherd Services in New York City where she oversaw extensive programmatic activities with the NYC Department of Education. She is a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker. She earned a Master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and a Master’s degree from Bank Street College Graduate School of Education with dual certification in general and special education.

Additionally, Katherine holds an Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from Rutgers School of Social Work and an Advanced Certificate in Executive Leadership in the Not-For-Profit Sector from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. Katherine is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). As a lifelong volunteer, serving in the AmeriCorps VISTA program and more recently as a member of Princeton’s municipal committee, she possesses a strong commitment to community and social justice initiatives.

Maria Hopas, LCSW

Program Director, Outpatient Mental Health

Maria Hoppas, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker, with 15 years of clinical experience. Maria received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from William Paterson University and master’s in social work from Rutgers University with a specialty in Advanced Direct Practice with Children and Families.

Maria Hoppas specializes in helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families with an array of mental health issues including but not limited to co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem/self-concept issues, depression, anxiety, OCD, school avoidance, grief, life stressors, and mood related disorders. Maria comes from an insight oriented, psychodynamic background using different therapeutic techniques depending on the individual person’s needs.

In addition to her extensive counseling experience, Maria is committed to helping clinicians develop in the field through supervision, training, and consultation. Maria has also developed and presented on various mental health topics including stress management, coping skills, seasonal depression, relationships, and self-esteem to clients, professionals, and community members.

Margaret ConcaPeg Conca,
Director of Operations
Peg Conca oversees the operations of the Food Pantry and Thrift Shop and has been instrumental in their tremendous growth, from personalized shopping and increasing the number of nutritious choices at the Food Pantry, to creating a boutique-like experience and an e-commerce presence for the Thrift Shop. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2017, Peg attended Morris County College and honed her skills with Verizon Business Department Customer Service, MetLife Stadium, and Bell Atlantic.
Yolanda SolisYolanda Solis,
Director of Administration, Hablamos Español

Yolanda Solis has served in many roles, including office manager, project manager, quality assurance, risk management, and human resources. She collaborates with the Executive Director to maintain the organization’s licensure. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2011, Yolanda earned an associate degree in liberal arts, studied speech pathology at Kean University, and served as a family liaison at the New York City Board of Education.

Alexandra Brown, LSW,
Mental Health Clinician

Alexandra Brown earned a Master of Social Work with a concentration in school social work from Morgan State University.
She also earned a Bachelor of Science in social work from Morgan State, qualified for the school’s Advanced Placement Program, and won an award for Outstanding Performance in Field Education. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2022, Alexandra interned in the Baltimore County Ombudsman Program and the University of Maryland School Mental Health Program.

Jacqueline Gebhardt-Burns, LPCJacqueline Gebhardt-Burns, LPC, Mental Health Clinician Jacqueline Gebhardt-Burns earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from William Patterson University. She has spent over 16 years in the counseling profession in progressively responsible roles including therapist, adjunct professor, training manager and director. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024, she served as Director of Clinical Programs for Aledade, Inc. for six years. Jacqueline has expertise in Motivational Interviewing, training and coaching.

Kathleen Cheski earned a Master of Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and graduated from Lehigh University with a double major in social relations and journalism.

Tyler-Anne CofoneTyler-Anne Cofone, Office Supervisor, Mental Health Program
Tyler-Anne Cofone provides administrative support to the Mental Health Program staff and supervises the administrative team. She grew up in Nutley, graduated from Nutley High School, and started at Nutley Family Service Bureau as a volunteer in 2011 after witnessing the positive impact the organization had on so many lives in our community. Tyler-Ann has 10 years of experience in administration and more than five years of experience in medical billing.
Dana FarleyDana Farley, Executive Office Coordinator Dana joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024. She earned a B.A. in Communications from William Paterson University. She is a motivated and people- oriented professional with extensive experience in employee relations, customer service, and account management. Dana has strong skills in communication and interpersonal relations. She has worked as an Implementation Administrator at Benefit Analysis, Inc., managing pre-tax benefit plans and client communications, and as a Human Resources Manager at Hyatt Morristown, overseeing recruitment, training, and employee morale. Additionally, she served as an Admissions Recruitment Coordinator at Dover Business College, guiding students through the enrollment process and building relationships with high schools.

Irene Garcia is a skilled and compassionate mental health professional with extensive experience in providing therapy and clinical support to individuals across the lifespan, including children, families, teens, adults, and older adults. She joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024 as a Mental Health Clinician, where she conducts comprehensive assessments, develops personalized treatment plans, and offers therapy for a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Irene employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients achieve their mental health goals.

In her role, Irene collaborates with other providers, ensures timely referrals to community resources, and maintains confidentiality while providing comprehensive care. Irene has a strong background in outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, and clinical supervision, including her prior work as a Senior Clinician at Bridgeway Behavioral Health. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey. Irene is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and continues to mentor and support both clients and fellow professionals in the field of mental health.

Shayna HintzeShayna Hintze, LAC Mental Health Clinician Shayna Hintze joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ramapo College. After over ten successful years in retail management and customer service Shayna turned her career focus to mental health. Her mental health experience prior to joining NFSB includes internships at West Bergan Mental Healthcare and Institute for Forensic Psychology.
Selena Horton, LSWSelena Horton, LSW Mental Health Clinician, Hablamos Español Selena Horton earned a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Lehman College. Selena comes to Nutley Family Service Bureau with over 15 years as a licensed social worker, practicing in both New York and New Jersey. Prior to joining NFSB in 2024, Selena held positions as a social worker at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in the Archway outpatient clinic in Mount Vernon, NY and as the Director of Social Services for Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center in Yonkers, NY.
Frank Jacob, LSWFrank Jacob, LSW Mental Health Clinician Frank Jacob joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024 after completing an internship with NFSB in 2023. Frank earned his Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University School of Social Work. He holds an MAT in Mathematics from Montclair State University and a BA in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Seton Hall University. After many years teaching, Frank turned his focus to behavioral health. Prior to coming to NFSB, Frank interned at CBH Care, where he facilitated group psychotherapy sessions and provided individual therapy for adolescents. As an intern at NFSB, he conducted psycho-social assessments, formulated treatment plans, and offered in- person and telehealth psychotherapy, focusing on PTSD, OCD, social anxiety, and childhood trauma. Megan MillerMegan Miller, MSW, LSW, Mental Health Clinician, Megan Miller earned a Master of Social Work with clinical focus from Rutgers University, a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2023, Megan served as a case manager/interventionist at the Paterson Healing Collective. As a mental health professional in a correctional setting, she provided assessment, counseling, and crisis management. Megan also has experience with justice-involved and violence-impacted adults.
Charlotte Moore, LAC Charlotte Moore, LAC Mental Health Clinician Charlotte Moore joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024. She earned a Master of Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University, where she also graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology. She is a Certified Municipal Registrar and a NJ State Licensed Associate Counselor. Charlotte’s extensive experience in mental health includes prior roles at Bergen’s Promise, coordinating support services for youth and families, and the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris County, providing in-home counseling. She also worked as an Intensive Outpatient Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor at Northeast Life Skills Associates and as an Intern Counselor at Bergen County’s Alternatives to Domestic Violence program. After volunteering at the Food Pantry, Joan Roake was inspired to join the Nutley Family Service Bureau staff in 2020. She assists with a wide range of programs and activities, including food distribution, tracking of food distribution statistics, volunteer organization, and case management. Prior to joining Nutley Family Service Bureau, Joan devoted nearly 30 years to public service related to law enforcement. Cheryl TaylorCheryl Taylor, Case Management Coordinator Cheryl Taylor joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024. She is a skilled social services professional with extensive experience in case management, needs assessment, intake assessments, and social services coordination. She has worked as a Unit Administrator at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health, where she managed patient flow and collaborated with departments to prioritize patient movement. Previously, she served as a Service Coordinator at Tri-Borough Home Care Ltd., providing coordination, advocacy, and compliance with regulations for individuals with disabilities and seniors. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Service and a Master of Public Administration in Public Affairs and Administration from Metropolitan College of New York, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Rutgers University, expected to graduate in 2026.
Josie WangJosie Wang, Development Coordinator Josie joined Nutley Family Service Bureau in 2024. She holds a B.A. from Rutgers University where she majored in Public and Nonprofit Administration. Josie is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the same university, expected in December 2024. Her professional experience includes significant roles in communication and social media coordination, as well as extensive fundraising expertise. She has served as a Communication and Social Media Coordinator at Rutgers University, creating and managing content across platforms. Prior to joining NFSB, she interned at the China-US Women’s Foundation and HumanID, where she supported donor outreach and project tracking. Her fundraising skills were further developed through working as a Fundraising Team Lead at P.E.A.R.L Institute, Josie coordinated events, maintains donor relations, and oversees development and public relations volunteers and interns.
